This Contract sets out the terms and conditions relating to our work together to help ensure the smooth working rapport that is necessary for treatments.

  1. We agree to work together to address issues presented by you and any underlying issues that may be associated or present themselves during our sessions, however, because of the individual nature of the treatment, no guarantee of a cure can be given. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and therefore you must be made aware that any changes you wish to make must be solely your decision and want. We cannot and will not be held liable in any form for any levels of transformation that have or have not been achieved by you.
  2. The cost of sessions will be set out and agreed with you after your initial consultation. These are dependent on the nature of treatment required and the number of treatments required. All sessions must be paid for in advance and are subject to our cancellation policy. Payments shall be made by our Stripe payment gateway for ease of tracking. Cash payments are subject to the discretion of Dartington Hypnosis or its representatives.
  3. Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in you being liable for charges under our Cancellation Policy. Details can be found in Section 13 below.
  4. Contact between our sessions will be limited to telephone or email unless specifically agreed by both parties subject to GDPR policies which you can find under our Privacy Policy section on the website www.dartingtonhypnosis.co.uk/privacy-policy
  5. Any anti-social behaviour by you will result in the immediate cessation of treatment. Any pre-payments made for future sessions past that point will be refunded (pro-rata) within 28 days minus a £20 administration fee
  6. Your welfare is our primary concern and will only take second place if not to do so would jeopardise other members of the public or my welfare.
  7. We will ensure that your confidentiality will be maintained in all but the most exceptional circumstances. All information collected during the sessions will be protected at all times and your confidentiality upheld. Information will only be disclosed under a Court Order (civil, criminal or coroner’s Court) or where not to disclose would cause danger or serious harm to others or yourself. Information may also be shared with an NHS medical practitioner or other Health Professional, but only with your agreement.
  8. As with all treatments there may be a rare and slight risk associated with psychological services. During the process of treatment, there may be reason to review some unpleasant memories or to experience some uncomfortable emotions. It is acknowledged that making personal changes in behaviour, thinking and emotions through hypnotherapy sometimes requires learning by trial and error and some confusion or setbacks in the process may occur. You hereby acknowledge and agree to and accept these potential risks.
  9. You should seek the advice of a qualified medical practitioner before commencing any treatment or if you have any questions related to your mental or physical health, physical fitness, or medical conditions. Also, it is not recommended that you stop or alter any treatment you are currently receiving without prior consent of your doctor or mental health advisor. We will never advise you to stop any treatments you may currently be undertaking or may undertake at a future date that are prescribed to you by any health professional or doctor or specialist. Please note that we cannot and will not advise on any medical prescriptions or procedures etc.
  10. We are members of the GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register), the GHSC (General Hypnotherapy Standards Council) and the CNHC (Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council) and as such we are obliged to comply with their Codes of Ethics and to always put you first. Further details on the standards that must be maintained and how these organisations accept its members may be found on our website www.dartingtonhypnosis.co.uk/about/ghrghsccnhc/
  11. We have an obligation under membership of the GHR, GHSC and CNHC to continue professional learning and development and therefore we may share case histories with Supervisors and peer-support groups. All information will be anonymous and this will not be a breach of professional confidentiality.
  12. You also agree that you are in a position to undertake treatments with us and that you have disclosed to us any contra-indications for hypnosis. If you are unsure about any reason as to why you may not be suitable for hypnotherapy then please take advice from you GP or health professional as laid out in section (9.) above. For clarity, contra-indications may include individuals suffering from dementia, individuals with psychotic disorders such as diagnosed bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia, anyone with an ongoing addiction to drugs or alcohol, anybody evidently under the influence of alcohol or drug use at the time of a session, anybody with severe comprehension difficulties This list is not exhaustive and in case there is any doubt you must consult a medical professional and provide us with evidence that it would be safe to continue with your treatments with us. This is for your own safety and wellbeing and for those around you. We cannot and will not be held liable for any undisclosed issues prior to and during your sessions with us.
  13. Missed Appointment Policy for Dartington Hypnosis
Our goal is to provide quality care to all our clients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other clients as well. Please be aware of our policy regarding missed appointments.
When you book your appointment using the Online Calendar you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other clients. In order to be respectful of others, please call us as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment. If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another client access to that appointment time.
    How to re-arrange your Appointment
If you need to re-arrange your appointment then please use the Online Calendar or please call us at (+44) 01803 446061 between the hours of 9am to 5pm UK time. If necessary, you may leave a detailed voicemail message. We will return and acknowledge your new arrangements as soon as possible. Alternatively please advise us by email info@dartingtonhypnosis.co.uk and we will reply to you as soon as possible by return. In both cases the time stamp on the voicemail or email must fall outside the 24 hours’ notice period.
    Late Cancellations or No-Shows
A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointed time. A no-show is when a client misses an appointment without cancelling. Either way, we will charge the client a 50% missed appointment fee. For a new client first appointment, a no show or late cancellation will result in a full charge.
    Free Consultations missed
For any ‘free’ initial consultations that are missed by you we reserve the right to charge a fee of £20 to cover expenses and time lost or clinic room booking fees etc.
General terms to late or missed or cancelled appointment fees
The charges scheduled above apply in all cases be they visits by us to you, or visits by you to us, or any form of online sessions booked.
Any oustanding payments incurred must be paid to us  as soon as possible but within 28 days.
