Do you think you are stressed or do you get anxious about situations, people or things that you may or may not have to face in life?
Ask yourself this…do you now or have you ever noticed any of these symptoms affecting you? This is not an exhaustive list but is a list of the most common issues.
- feeling tense, nervous or unable to relax
- having a sense of dread, or fearing the worst
- feeling like the world is speeding up or slowing down
- feeling like other people can see you’re anxious and are looking at you
- feeling like you can’t stop worrying, or that bad things will happen if you stop worrying
- worrying about anxiety itself, for example worrying about when panic attacks might happen
- wanting lots of reassurance from other people or worrying that people are angry or upset with you
- worrying that you’re losing touch with reality
- low mood and depression
- rumination – thinking a lot about bad experiences, or thinking over a situation again and again
- depersonalisation – a type of dissociation where you feel disconnected from your mind or body, or like you are a character that you are watching in a film
- derealisation – another type of dissociation where you feel disconnected from the world around you, or like the world isn’t real worrying a lot about things that might happen in the future
We all experience some anxiety in our lives, however, anxiety can sometimes persist and in some cases gradually increase over time. ‘Mixed anxiety and depression’ is the most common mental disorder in the UK, with nearly 8% of the population suffering from this condition.
We all need a certain level of stress and anxiety in our lives to keep us feeling ‘normal’ whatever that may mean!
However, we all carry around feelings, thoughts, emotions and images from our past that have never been dealt with by our ’emotional or subconcious’ part of our brain and they are just laying dormant and unresolved taking up space and our ability to take onboard more. At some point the ‘pressure cooker’ builds up to such a point that we are overcome. Sometimes the smallest of things will push us over the edge because we can’t handle even the tinyest piece of stress or anxiety as there is not enough room to cope as it’s taken up by old and irrelevant stresses and anxieties that our subconcious has held on to over time! This is where Hypnotherapy comes in! Using techniques under Hypnosis we can have a good ‘Emotional Detox’ and clear out lots of these useless unresolved issues that are clogging us up. We don’t dig up loads of issues directly and go over old ground as the techniques are ‘content free’ meaning that you can make room to handle life as it comes again by letting the subconcious agree that the past is the past and anything it has been holding on to in anticipation of one day resolving it can simply just let it go and understand that resolving issues that are now irrelevant is futile and it needs to let them go without consequences.
‘General Anxiety’; a long-term condition that causes people to be anxious about a wide range of situations and issues, can be hugely debilitating and it can leave a person feeling trapped. However, people can also suffer from anxiety which focuses on a specific issue or situation. Issues such as social anxiety, driving anxiety and health anxiety can become a problem if left untreated and in severe cases, lead to panic attacks. If anxiety takes hold, it is important to seek help.
THIS IS WHERE WE COME IN!
Utilising the power of hypnotherapy to confront your anxiety can yield significant results. I aim to offer the very best help for people with anxiety! We have techniques and systems that we can use with you to ‘declutter’ the things that you are needlessly holding on to. Unlike many therapies we don’t have to make you relive any scenarios or dig up useless things from your past, instead we use techniques that let your own subconcious sort itself out. Most of the time it has all the answers, it just hasn’t chosen to share them with you conciously yet!
